ELC MADANG TO HOST NEXT SYNOD IN 2028

MADANG District of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of PNG will be hosting the 36th synod of the church in 2028.

Madang Governor, Ramsey Pariwa said his government stands fully committed to deliver the synod in his province.

Speaking during the closing of the 35th National Synod in Bunsil, Siassi yesterday, Pariwa said the element to build a good government is the church and with the church as the foundation, the government cannot go wrong.

He said without a good foundation, social problems will rise, environmental problems, and others which are currently happening all around the world.

Therefore, during the ELCPNG Madang District Conference in Ranara, Madang last year, he publicly told faithfuls which gathered that it is time for the government in Madang to work closely with the churches.

During the closing ceremony, he said he went there to give confidence to his people and other ELCPNG District that he’s ready to stand with his people and host the 2028 36th synod in Madang.

Governor Pariwa said this also signifies his aim in partnering with churches in the development agendas of Madang Province.
