NORMALCY RETURNED IN KAVIENG; TEENAGERS “HOLD UP” SUSPECTS ARRESTED

NORMALCY has returned in Kavieng, New Ireland province following yesterday’s hold up incident at the heart of Kavieng town and commercial area, where 12 young men held up the Diamond Brothers shop Kavieng town getting away with a cash registry containing unverified amount of monies.
According to New Ireland Provincial Police Commander, Chief Superintendent Albert Beli, 4 teenagers are in police custody while the rest of their gang members are on the run.
PPC Beli said the robbers are just kids ages 12-13 of mixed highlands, Sepik and New Ireland provinces and urged the general public to support policing in the province.
He further called on the public to not become spectators but support policing through citizen arrests or simply alerting police of suspected turn of events that can lead to such incidents.
Chief Superintendent Belli has confirmed the arrest of 4 teenagers who are currently in police custody at the Kavieng Police cells, while the remainder of the total 12 suspects involved are still on the run.
