NEW PARTNERSHIP TO IMPROVE DIABETES TREATMENT IN PNG

THE CPL Group, through its City Pharmacy brand, has partnered with Sanofi’s Global Health Unit to strengthen diabetes care and improve access to treatment in Papua New Guinea.
The partnership delivered a Continuous Medical Education event in Port Moresby, bringing together healthcare professionals from provincial health authorities, Port Moresby General Hospital and private clinics.
Experts highlighted the importance of early and appropriate insulin use, and the need to address barriers that delay treatment for diabetes patients.
Sanofi Global Health Unit’s Asia Pacific Access Lead, Dr Vijeta Tiwari, said the company is committed to improving care for underserved communities through sustainable health solutions.
Port Moresby General Hospital Specialist Dr Cassius Maingu said stronger clinical support and education are critical as PNG faces a growing burden of non-communicable diseases.
