KAVIENG BY ELECTION COUNTING DOWN TO LAST 4 CANDIDATES

CAPTION: Counting Officials distributing Chris Gai’s votes in the 7th elimination.

A new provincial member for New Ireland should be announced anytime today down as counting draws down to the last 4 candidates in the contest.
The Governor’s position was left vacant after the passing of late Sir Julius Chan last January.
Member for Namatanai Walter Schnaubelt succeeded late Sir J pending the Electoral Commission directed by-election underway.
And on day 10 of the by election counting today, the 7th candidate to be eliminated is Chris Gai amassing 2,752 votes at the end of exclusion six (6) yesterday.
As well heading into exclusion 7, none of the remaining candidates has reached absolute majority of 23,151.
The progressive running total heading into exclusion 7 is;
