CENTRAL PG PASS K345M BUDGET FOR 2026

GOVERNOR Rufina Peter has officially revealed a K345.25 million provincial budget for 2026, describing it as a “strategic instrument of reform” designed to break the province’s long-standing reliance on national government grants.
During her address to the Provincial Assembly last week, Governor Peter emphasized that the budget plan focuses on strengthening governance, boosting internal revenue, and reducing dependence on national grant.
Governor Peter said that every kina reflects a choice about what kind of Central Province they envisioned under the theme “Security with Growth”.
She added that the fifth budget of the government, combining gains from four years of reform to ensures farmers sell closer to home, SMEs operate in viable locations, youth see opportunity, and Central Province reclaims its economic dignity.
Governor Peter also emphasized that development funding is targeted to reduce inequality, attract private investment, and expand the economy beyond subsistence farming.
