MADANG POLICE COMMITS 2026 POLICING YEAR TO GOD

IN a dedication service held on Tuesday this week in Madang, the Madang Provincial Police Commander, Superintendent Robert Baim urged all stakeholders to unite in a shared mission: to make Madang a better place to live, do business, and enjoy holidays.
The dedication mass was a shift from the traditional parade that is conducted every beginning of the year to kick- start police operations in the province.
The Police Commander stressed that restoring law and order is not a police-only obligation. It requires the effort of everyone, from university graduates to villagers and those living in settlements.
By standing together as one people, Madang can address daily challenges and rebuild the integrity and serenity of its communities.
The Commander, Superintendent Baim, dedicate the year 2026 to God for protection and guidance, with a firm belief that divine support will empower efforts to safeguard Madang’s citizens.
The message is clear: with faith, unity, and collaborative governance, the province can deliver tangible improvements to its people.
The event, attended by all sectional heads, Dum Bal, the Chairman of Law and Order in the Madang Government, and several police families, reflected a collective commitment to lead with faith as the foundation of their service.
Provincial Police Commander Supt. Robert Baim conveyed that this moment marks a new ethos for the force, emphasizing that Law and Order is God’s business and that officers must place God first in their lives, followed by their families and then their work, so that they may not go astray.
Baim reiterated the call for unity across church denominations, reinforcing that although officers come from diverse faith backgrounds, they share a common purpose and a single God, under whose protection they seek to operate as they carry out their duties.
This spiritual inauguration signals a holistic approach to public safety, one that binds moral integrity, family cohesion, and professional duty as the province embarks on its 2026 operations.
Superintendent Robert Baim extended heartfelt thanks to Archbishop of Madang Province, Bishop Anton Bal, and the Holy Spirit Cathedral Parish Priest, Father Marek Kondrakt for dedicating time to bless and dedicate police officers to God, reinforcing the commitment to serve His people with integrity and compassion.
