PNGRFL TO BE PART OF PNG CHIEFS TEAM; SAYS PM

PRIME Minister James Marape has indicated that a representative of the Papua New Guinea Rugby Football League (PNGRFL) will be a part of the PNG Chiefs franchise, moving ahead.
Prime Minister Marape said this yesterday (Tuesday), when unveiling the inaugural office of the Chiefs in Port Moresby’s National Football Stadium.
Marape further added that he is in talks with the top-management of the Australia’s National Rugby League (NRL) to ensue PNGRFL included in Chiefs board and leadership team to represent the local competitions.
“There will be a place for PNGRFL,” Prime Minister Marape assured the county.
“I’m in discussion with the NRL leadership, and Chairman (Peter V’landys), PNG RFL will have a place in our franchise.
“That is a work in progress and when it happens, PNG RFL will have a representation on the Chiefs, representing the local competitions.”
Prime Minister also called on Central province to work with the National Capital District to boost and attract Tourism.
Marape promised that many good things will come, once the competition kicks off in Port Moresby and urged the Central leaders to work with their people.
