Lae Secondary School has received K500,000 from Lae City Authority (LCA) for the construction of a new Practical Skills and Maintenance Building.

LCA CEO Mr. Robin Calistus said the new facility is expected to provide students with hands-on practical training while easing pressure caused by the increasing student population at the school.

He said the K500,000 contribution from the taxpayers of Lae will assist with the ongoing construction of the Practical Skills and Maintenance Building, aimed at improving learning opportunities for students.

Calistus said with the increasing number of students, this new building will help reduce pressure on existing facilities.

He added that education remains one of Hon. Rosso’s key priorities, with support extended not only to secondary schools but also to primary schools across Lae.

Lae Secondary School Board Chairman, Mr. Edward Buasin, expressed appreciation for the continued support.

He said Lae is fortunate to have an MP who sees the needs of the community and steps in to help us so they can build a better future for the children.

The presentation fulfils part of a K1 million commitment made by Hon. Rosso during the school’s graduation ceremony last year.
