STATE SIGNS OFF ON WEWAK–ANGORAM HIGHWAY

IN a major road infrastructure boost for East Sepik Province, a K382.5 million contract was signed off by the Governor General Grand Chief Sir Bob Dadae to officially execute the Wewak – Angoram Highway.
These 48 months projects cover 87 km stretch of the Sepik costal highway from Passam Junction to Angoram Station, fully funded by the national Government.
The National Executive Council has awarded the contract to China Railway Construction Engineering Group (PNG).
Company’s representative Sam Jia and Klaus Jiang signed the agreement contract on March 3rd, in the presence of the Governor General, with Secretary of the Department of Works & Highways, Gibson Holemba.
Governor General Grand Chief Sir Bob Dadae also officially executed road contract for Central province valued at over K1.5 billion on 3rd of March 2026.
The contract will be fully funded by the national Government and will take a duration of 8 years to complete.
This contact is for the construction of 242km section of the Magi Highway between Moreguina Junction to Gadaisu in Central and Milne Bay provinces.
The National Executive Council has awarded the contract to China Overseas Engineering Group Company (COVEC) PNG Ltd.
The contract was signed by the COVEC Company representatives, Wang Siguang and Yang Bo before the Governor General and Secretary of Department of Works & Highways Gibson Holemba.
