AIR NIUGINI ISSUES TRAVEL ADVISORY ON MIDDLE EAST REGIONAL DEVELOPMENTS

CAPTION: Air Niugini Chief Executive Officer, Mr Alan Milne

AIR Niugini has advised passengers that due to the evolving security situation in parts of the Middle East region, there is potential for disruptions to international airspace and connecting services operated by other carriers.

The airline confirms that its direct services to Singapore, Manila and Hong Kong continue to operate as scheduled. However, Air Niugini understands that some customers travel beyond these ports to destinations in Europe, the Middle East, Africa and other international locations.

While Air Niugini’s own operations remain unaffected at this stage, some international carriers operating beyond these hubs are experiencing airspace restrictions, schedule adjustments and temporary cancellations as a result of the developing situation.

Passengers holding onward tickets with other airlines are strongly encouraged to check directly with their connecting carrier regarding flight status prior to departure. Customers travelling beyond Singapore, Manila or Hong Kong should ensure their contact details are up to date in their bookings, monitor official airline channels for real-time updates, review fare conditions and flexibility options with their travel agent or issuing airline, and consider their travel insurance coverage where applicable.

Air Niugini Chief Executive Officer, Mr Alan Milne, said the airline is maintaining close communication with relevant aviation authorities and partner airlines.

He said “Air Niugini’s services to our key Asian ports continue to operate normally. However, given the fluid nature of developments in parts of the Middle East, we strongly encourage passengers with onward connections to confirm their travel arrangements directly with the operating carrier before commencing their journey,”

“The safety and wellbeing of our passengers and crew remain our highest priority. We understand that uncertainty during international events can be concerning, and we want to assure our customers that we are closely monitoring the situation and stand ready to assist where possible.”Mr Milne said

Air Niugini will continue to monitor developments and provide timely updates should there be any changes affecting its operations.
