HUNTERS FULLBACK “WABO” SET FOR MILESTONE GAME THIS WEEKEND

PNG Hunters fullback Sanny Wabo is set to play his 50th Queensland Hostplus Cup game this weekend in Hunters jumper against the visiting Wynnum Manly Seagulls in Port Moresby.
Wabo, wholeheartedly credited his family for the support he received so far to achieve this feat and milestone in his rugby league career and journey to feature in the Australia’s tier-two competition.
Limited to only eight games after debuting in 2023 season, the Lae Tigers product has a breakout season in 2024, playing more than 20 games and was solid last year that saw him earned the Club Person of the Year Award to sum up the year.
“When I first came in to the Hunters camp in 2023, my aim was to get things right and set positive mindset and attitude,” Wabo, told media ahead of celebrating his 50th game this Sunday.
“That time my aim was to make the Hunters final squad and make the starting 17-every week.
“And looking back, there was challenges but now I’m happy to play.
