PM MARAPE COMMENDS NASFUND’S 13% RETURNS

PRIME Minister James Marape has commended the strong performance of National Superannuation Fund following a visit to its Head Office in Port Moresby yesterday.

The visit follows Nasfund announcement of the 13% return for its members, highlighting continued growth driven by sound governance,cost disciplined management, and long-term investment strategies.

Addressing the staff, Prime Minister acknowledged the importance of strong institutions in protecting workers’ savings, and credited past reforms, those under former Prime Minister Sir Mekere Morauta, for strengthening transparency and accountability in the sector.

Meanwhile, Nasfund Chairman Christopher Elphick says the Prime Minister’s visit is a strong show of support for the Fund’s work.

Adding that Nasfund is entrusted with protecting and growing the retirement savings of more than 700,000 Papua New Guineans and it is a responsibility the fund take very seriously.

Also, Chief Executive Officer Rajeev Sharma says the 13 percent return reflects the Fund’s focus on long-term value and disciplined management.

Stressing that their priority remains to deliver sustainable growth for members while maintaining confidence, transparency and resilience in a changing economic environment.

Nasfund has reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding member savings and contributing to the country’s economic development through responsible investment.
