LAND APPLICATION PROCESSES DIGITIZED

LANDS and Physical Planning Minister and Deputy Prime Minister John Rosso unveiled another major reform in launching a major reform digitized land application processes, first online lodgement, the first strata tile and the first electronic title.

This reformed process, makes land application processes much easier and it is now available on the department’s official website.

For many years, Papua New Guineans and Businesses deal with challenges in goin through a complexy and lengthy processes to acquire land titles.

However with the new reform initiated and introduced by the lands minister, including the launch of the electronic system called the go lands e-lands system, 5 years ago, another major reform undertaken is the land digitized application process online system which was unveild last night at Hilton Hotel.

Minster Rosso officially launched the online system and released the first ever strata land title to the Constantinou group last night, making a major milestone of land reform in the country. This reform is aligned with the national government’s reset@50 agenda.

The secretary of the Department of Lands and Physical planning, Mr Benjamin Samson expressed great pride last night at the launch, adding that it is not just an official event; it is a reflection of the work and commitment that the department has been pursuing over time.


Secretary Samson shared that under the leadership of Minster Rosso, they realised that the systems were outdated, with delays in manual processing, administrative efficiencies and a growing need to restore public confidence in the work of the department.


With technical support from the development partners, Niu pay, the department was able to launch this new online land application system.

The secretary also noted that the department will now shift their focus to improving in its day-to-day operations.
Ultimately, the new reforms paves way for many other reforms as well, including housing, revenue generation for the state, and transparency and accountably in a Lands and Physical Planning department.


However, since member for Lae and the deputy Prime Minster, Hon. John Rosso took office as the Minster for Land and Physical Planning, he as has introduced major reforms in the Lands department, including the launch of the electronic system called the go lands e-lands system, 5 years ago.
