IN the remote district of Obura Wonenara district in Eastern Highlands Province the people of Manigiri, Marawaka, and Jomuru communities celebrate the completion of a community development project that has seen community members actively building roads and maintaining footbridges.

Led by Yeila LLG Ward 4 Councillor Ather Worinu that included 8 ward areas of the LLG with the project to benefit more than 10, 000 people.

Though a little community development project it has brought together community members on the common goal of community service and development and the need for basic government road services in the area.

Led by the newly elected Concilor Arther Worinu of the Yeila local level government (LLG), a youngman with a passion for community service and supported by the Obura Wonenara district development authority (DDA).

The project is a first of its kind initiative since Independence that involves all 8 wards of the Yeila LLG and community participation aimed at cleaning communities and the main roads and bridges in Marawaka known as one of the most remote communities in the Eastern Highlands Province.
