THE PNG Chiefs have officially appointed Willie Peters as the clubβs inaugural head coach ahead of its entry into the National Rugby League competition in 2028.
The announcement was made during a press conference attended by club executives, including CEO Lorna McPherson, General Manager of Football Michael Chammas and Kumuls legend Stanley Gene.
McPherson described the appointment as a βhistoric dayβ for the franchise and an important milestone in the teamβs preparations for its debut season.
Peters brings significant coaching experience to the role, including a successful stint with English Super League club Hull Kingston Rovers, where he helped transform the team into a strong contender.
