NEW ICT MINISTER ROBERT NAGURI TAKES OFFICE, PLEDGES TO CONTINUE DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION

THE Ministry of Information and Communications Technology today officially marked the handover of responsibilities from outgoing Acting Minister Peter Tsiamalili Jr to incoming Minister Robert Naguri.

The ceremony was held at Melanesian Haus in Waigani, signifying the formal transition of leadership within the ministry.

Speaking during the handover, Tsiamalili thanked Prime Minister James Marape for the confidence placed in him and highlighted key achievements over the past 12 months.

These include major reforms across the Department of ICT, NICTA and the National Broadcasting Corporation (NBC).

Tsiamalili assured that the foundations are now in place to support PNGโ€™s digital future and congratulated Minister Naguri on his appointment.

Incoming Minister, Robert Naguri said he is honored to take on the ICT portfolio and pledged to continue the governmentโ€™s digital agenda.

He said his immediate focus will be on the full implementation of the National Digital Government Strategy, the National Digital Ecosystem Strategy, and strengthening cybersecurity and connectivity to improve service delivery for all Papua New Guineans.
