AGISA HANDS OVER LIVESTOCK MINISTRY TO GAMAI WITH CONFIDENCE

FORMER Livestock Minister Sekie Agisa officially handed over the portfolio to incoming Minister Agena Gamai on last week, expressing confidence that the new minister will continue building Papua New Guinea’s livestock industry.

The handover took place at Tiaba Abattoir in Port Moresby and was witnessed by Livestock Development Corporation (LDC) Managing Director Steven Yangis, Board Chairman Martin Ginyaru, board members, LDC management, staff and other distinguished guests.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr Agisa congratulated Mr Gamai on his appointment and thanked the Marape-Rosso Government for the opportunity to serve.

He acknowledged former LDC Managing Director Terry Koim, current MD Mr Yangis, the chairman, board and staff for their support noting that he leaves office with satisfaction knowing the responsibilities entrusted to him have been largely fulfilled.

Mr. Agisa said a strong institutional foundation has been built and a clear policy direction established, positioning LDC to move confidently into the next phase of implementation, investment and commercial growth.

He hands over the ministry with confidence and encourage the new minister to continue building the PNG livestock industry.

In his response, Minister Gamai thanked Mr Agisa for his service and acknowledged the efforts of past and current LDC management, staff and the board.

He expressed to work closely with LDC management to continue the progress initiated by the former minister, with a focus on nationwide growth for the corporation.

Meanwhile, LDC Managing Director Steven Yangis formally welcomed the new minister and thanked outgoing Ministers for his commitment to supporting LDC’s growth.
