NOEL PEPEMIK APPOINTED SP BREWRY MANAGER AFTER 14 YEARS OF SERVICE


SP Brewery is proud to announce the appointment of Noel Pepemik as Brewery Manager of its Port Moresby Brewery, after 14 years of dedication and professional growth with the company.


His appointment marks the successful localization of the role and reflects SP Brewery’s commitment to developing local talent and creating opportunities for Papua New Guineans to take up senior leadership positions.


Hailing from Boikin in East Sepik Province, Pepemik says his journey to one of the company’s senior operational roles has been shaped by perseverance, family support and a commitment to continuous learning.,


He lost his father at the age of 10, leaving his mother to raise him and his siblings which Pepemik says the support of his elder brother and his wife helped him complete his education at Boikin Primary School and Brandi Secondary School.


He later graduated from the Papua New Guinea University of Technology in 2011 with a Bachelor of Science in Applied Chemistry.


His interest in science and chemistry was sparked by two secondary school teachers who made the subjects enjoyable and inspired him to pursue chemistry.


After graduating, Pepemik struggled to secure his first job before joining SP Brewery’s Graduate Development Program in 2012.


Over the past 14 years, he has progressed through several positions, including Brewing Supervisor, Brewing Manager in Lae in 2020, Packaging Manager and Acting Brewery Manager in 2025 and now he takes on the role of Brewery Manager for the Port Moresby Brewery.


Pepemik says his career progression required significant personal sacrifice, including spending weekends and days off undertaking training and professional development without expecting additional pay.


He credits SP Brewery’s training and development platforms for providing clear pathways for his career growth.
As he takes on his new role, Pepemik also acknowledges mentors who supported him throughout his career, including the late Kuri Yuwai, Gia Vela and Stella Ikasa.


He says one of his proudest achievements has been mentoring junior employees who have since progressed into management roles across the company.


Pepemik says leadership is not only about personal success, but also about preparing others to take the next step.
