THE Daulo District Development Authority has allocated K3 million to respond to the ongoing El Niño crisis.

Daulo MP and DDA Chairman Ekime Gorosahu announced the funding yesterday in Goroka after presenting medical drug supplies to health facilities in the district.

The relief support will be rolled out across the district’s four LLGs, with distribution of supplies expected to begin next week.

Daulo El Niño Committee Chairman Jeremiah Koro says awareness and data collection have already been conducted across the three LLGs and 23 wards, with the assistance of ward recorders.

Mr Koro says the committee has also developed a recovery plan to help communities deal with the continuing effects of El Niño into next year.
