FIRST COCOA HARVESTED IN MOU
FIRST cocoa being harvested in the Mou Village of Kairuku district, Central Province.
Planting and trading bettelnut as their only source of income, this district will now grow Cocoa, supported by the Cocoa Board of PNG and their local MP Peter Isiaimo.
These cocoa seedlings were planted in 2016 by Huhure’o Farmers Association Inc, Project Coordinator Samson Wolwolit to test the soil and the climate, however, it was a successful try-out.
The project was launched on Friday, 22nd of November at the Mou Village by MP Isiaimo, witnessed by Cocoa Board of PNG officials.
