The holiday season is just around the corner, and excitement is building as Port Moresby Nature Park prepares for its annual “Christmas in the Park” event.

This year, the theme is “Mystical Forest,” and the 16-day celebration will begin on December 10th and run until Christmas Day, December 25th.

Johnpaul Houston, CEO of Port Moresby Nature Park, shared his excitement about the event, saying, “We are thrilled to see everyone come together at the park and celebrate the season, learn about PNG’s plants and animals, and see our conservation efforts.”

The park is decorated with a magical Christmas display to get everyone into the holiday spirit. There will be many fun activities for people of all ages, and the park is especially excited to welcome families, church groups, children on school holidays and others.

Houston added, “It’s a great chance for people to gather in a beautiful, safe space and enjoy their time.”

The event also highlights the true spirit of Christmas by giving back to the community. “We’ve worked hard all year on our conservation, education, and research goals, so it’s wonderful to have an event that’s all about family time and community spirit,” Houston said.

The celebrations will include a Christmas Choir Competition from December 10th to 15th, held from 10 am to 2 pm at the Central Lawn.

This will be followed by Santa’s Workshop from December 16th to 20th, from 10 am to 1 pm at the Palm Grove.

The event will end with the Kids & Family Fun Day, which will take place from December 21st to 25th, from 9 am to 3 pm.

Visitors can also enjoy face painting, pottery classes, and more.

The park will give away free tree seedlings to promote reforestation and raise awareness about taking care of the natural environment in the city.

Port Moresby Nature Park hopes this event will bring people together to enjoy the holiday season and learn more about conservation and PNGs incredible varieties of flora and species of fauna.

Everyone is invited to join in the fun and make this the most wonderful time of the year.
