TELIKOM PARTNERS WITH NATIONAL ENERGY AUTHORITY

In an effort to promote green energy and sustainability, PNG owned Telecommunications company, Telikom Limited has partnered with National Energy Authority (NEA).

Yesterday (Friday 24th February), a Memorandum of Understanding was signed by Telikom Limited and the National Energy Authority, marking a significant milestone for the Telecommunication’s company goal to align with the national government’s goals of achieving green energy in the country.

Telikom CEO, Amos Tepi said the very important aspect of this partnership is align Telikom with the Policies of NEA and to reaffirm Telikom’s commitment to power energy going forward.

He adds that this MOU will help Telikom in terms of Power consumption, especially towards Solarization and power grills 

The Managing Director of National Energy Authority, Mr Ronald Meketa said collaboration between state owned entities is important to achieve the solarization of resources in the country.

He adds that NEA as the regulator of energy in the country is happy to partner with Telikom as this partnership not only serves the interest of the state but the people as well.

The National Energy Authority (NEA) issues electrician and contractor licenses in PNG, authorizing electrical work, and yesterday’s MOU signing by the two state entities was witnessed by the Minster for Energy, Thomas Opa.
