The Wabag Urban Local Level Government (WULLG) has issued a warning to street vendors not to conduct their informal business in and around the Enga Provincial capital. Wabag Town Manager Dia Matthew is concerned of the unnecessary traffic congestion caused by street sellers and urged them to stop once and for all.

He is also aware of the rubbish and littering by the street vendors saying their presence is an eyesore to the public who come into town regularly for personal or business purposes.

Matthew said the Wabag Town Rangers have been directed to apprehended and charge street vendors who defy lawful directives from the government authorities.

Wabag Police Station Commander Inspector Patrick Peka (picture) commended the work of the Office of the Wabag Town Manager and pledged his support to ensure Wabag Town is clean, safe and peaceful all throughout the year going forward.

Inspector Peka also appealed to youths living in and around the township areas to take ownership of the business centre and assist in managing petty crime issues alike. The Wabag Urban LLG is made up of seven council wards and the Wabag Town Lord Mayor is Hon.Felix Kandapaki.
