FODE CENTRE LAUNCHED IN DAULO; ONLINE COURSES TO BE OFFERED

THE Daulo district development received much praise from the Education Department yesterday for its investment in the Flexible Education.

Education First Assistant Secretary Mr Andrew Agobe commended the Daulo MP Ekime Gorosahu for his commitment into FODE as the first district in the country to implement the education Secretary’s plans to bring FODE alongside all Secondary Schools throughout the country and for the consistent DDA budget for FODE in the district.

Mr Agobe said next year FODE courses will be offered online to students.

He also revealed that in last year’s DHERST online selection a total of 1500 FODE students alone throughout the country were selected into Tertiary institutions giving a good competition to public schools.

He said FODE education has the potential to transform the country with its flexible learning and is now the lighthouse for the people of Daulo.

Daulo MP Ekime Gorosahu said the investment into FODE education is to leave no child behind in Higher school Education in Daulo district under his leadership and is in line with the district’s key priority which focuses on Health and education.

He said Health and education goes hand in hand to promote human resource development.

MP Gorosahu also acknowledged the efforts of the FODE management team in the district for seeing the project came to reality for the people of Daulo district.

According to the DDA so far total of almost K400, 000 has been invested into the establishment of the FODE centre as MP Gorosahu assured a consistent budget under his leadership where the need is.

However, the Daulo district is third after Obura-Woninara and Unggai Bena district to have its own FODE centre besides the Provincial FODE centre in Goroka.

The launching took place at the Asaro Station yesterday.

However, 5 PC Tablets where presented by the National Principal FODE Director Mr Anthony Ryyapan during the launching.
