NEW POLICE OPERATIONS ISSUED PENDING UOG INVESTIGATIONS

EASTERN Highlands Acting Provincial Police Commander Superintendent Mazuc Rubiang addressed police personal in Goroka today at the Goroka Police station, and isseud strict instructions and command on police operations in Goroka town pending investigations into the recent University Of Goroka incident.
PPC Mazuc recently took over office following an administrative decision by the RPNGC management for a temporary 21days suspension of PPC Chief Superintendent John Kale pending investigations.
Instructions issued include foot beat patrol which started today after the parade, effective enforcement of the drunk Patrol during the liquor ban period from Friday to Sunday and regular community policing foot beats to be conducted in Goroka town.
He said this approach is to increase police presence and visibility at the community level to ensure that law and order is maintained especially in the hot spot crime areas within Goroka town with the increase in population and petty crimes.
Some of the instructions issued also include closing of all public markets in Goroka town by 5pm and a strict monitoring of discipline among members, monthly return reports under the different police section operations at the Goroka Police station and outstations in the province.
