IBS COLLEGE OF TVET CELEBRATES 13th GRADUATION CEREMONY

THE Institute of Business College of TVET this week celebrates its 13th graduation ceremony, with 182 students graduating across various programs, including Certificate 3 in Accounting, Business, and Information Technology, as well as Certificate 4 in Business, Information Technology, and Human Resource Management.

With the theme “Skilled Today, Leading Tomorrow,” the students proudly received their certificates and special awards, reflecting the institution’s vision of enriching lives through world-class education, training, and research.

In his graduation address, Cameron Mackeller, the CEO of the Brian Bell Group of Companies, shared inspiring stories of his success, detailing his journey from growing up in Papua New Guinea to becoming the person he is today.

As the guest speaker at the ceremony, he congratulated the students and left them with three important points to remember: to be Engaged – Be confident in their abilities, to Have Passion– Be passionate and love what they do and Be Interesting– Ensure they stand out among the 8 million people in Papua New Guinea and the world.

Meanwhile, Gutuma Gima, a lecturer of the School of Business Management, highlighted several significant milestones of IBS such as the recognition of IBS as an Institute of Higher Education in 2007 by the office of the Higher Education.

He also shared that IBS has offered various scholarships, including the Miss Pacific Islands Pageant Scholarship for female students, based on the motto, “When you educate a girl, you educate a family” and others.

These initiatives are part of IBS’s commitment to promoting education and empowering students.

The graduation ceremony ended with special awards presentations and token of appreciation to speakers by the head of IBS College, Mr. Sagara Wijeratne.
