KAIRUKU PRESIDENT READY TO CHANGE PEOPLE’S LIFE

BY JOE GURINA
A young aspiring entrepreneur turned politician, Mr Terence Rau, president elect for Kairuku LLG stands ready to translate people’s life.
Mr Terence says he never dreamt or inspired to be in politics, but because of the struggles of his people he raised his hand to lead and correct the system.
Mr Rau has vowed to correct the systems that did not materialised for the people.
His speech during the swearing of 51 ward members of the entire Kairuku district earlier this month at Bereina station clearly defines his purpose in addressing the peoples plight.
” Accountability, transparency and honesty begins today. For too long, unnecessary delays, incomplete projects and public funds been missmanaged, and administrative shortfalls have held our district backward from the progress our people rightfully deserve.
” This chapter closes today. We cannot afford another year of lost opportunity,” he said.
” From today onwards, we commit to a leadership culture defined by responsibility, efficiency, and integrity.
” To you my two colleague LLG presidents, Edward Kekele Mekeo and Ignatius Aida, Kuni, your success is your peoples success.
” I’m honored to stand beside you both as a partner in leadership. We do not stand isolated as presidents if different LLGs. We stand as collective voice, united with the shared vision to uplift our wards, LLGs and district.”
He vowed to work with the local MP Peter Isoaimo to drive the vision and ambition of Kairuku district with the support of his 22 ward councillors to bring tangible development at the ward and LLG level.
He says for too long, unnecessary delays, incomplete projects and public funds been mismanaged, and administrative shortfalls have held the district backward from the progress the people rightfully deserve, and this chapter closes today, where there is commitment to leadership, responsibility, efficiency, and integrity.
