AROB PEACEFUL DURING NEW YEAR CELEBRATIONS

THE Autonomous Region of Bougainville has once again reported a smooth transition into the new year with little to no major incidents reported during the New Year Period.
This message was relayed to this Newsroom from Acting Bougainville Police Service [BPS] Chief, Superintendent Spencer Aili.
Supt. Aili stated that the BPS only responded to minor issues, such as public drinking and loitering but other than that nothing major was reported in the Autonomous region. He thanked the communities for adhering to police instruction, praising their good behaviour as a positive sign in their aspirations for Independence.
Aside from this, police were also able to apprehend illegal alcohol producers in all three locales of the region.
Superintendent Aili stated that Homebrew production continues to plague AROB but police are looking to work with local communities to clamp down on mass homebrew production.
