AUCKLAND FC ARRIVES IN POM FOR ROUND 2 OF OFC LEAGUE

AUCKLAND Football Club is the first to arrive in Port Moresby for round 2 of the Oceania Football Confederation (OFC) Professional League, which will kick off this Saturday, 31st January at the Santos National Football Stadium.


The team arrived at 1:30pm at the Jacksons International Airport.


Speaking to media at the Airport, Auckland FC defender and captain Michael Den Heijer said this was his first time in Papua New Guinea and he is happy to be here.


Auckland FC will be opening round 2 with a match against host team PNG Hekari FC, Den Heijer said they anticipate the match will be a challenge.


“It’s gonna be tough, the weather conditions are going to be a challenge but we’re up for the challenge and the crowd is going to be great as well” he said.


Auckland FC ia leading the League standings with 3 wins and no loses.


Their arrival sets pace for a great round 2 of the inaugural Oceania Professional League.
