GRAHAM ELLIS RE-APPOINTED AS THE RESIDENT JUDGE OF ENGA PROVINCE

THE Judicial & Legal Services Commission (JLSC) has extended the time of Enga resident Judge, Justice Graham Ellis, allowing him to serve the province for another three-years, commencing this year till 2028.

This re-appointment was confirmed by JLSC (Judicial & Legal Services Commission) Chairman Pila Niningi today, in Port Moresby, together with two-other new appointments and a re-appointment.

The other re-appointment was Judge, Justice Sir Kina Bona, while two new appointments include Justices Silas Kaule and Jeffery Mesa.

Two new appointments will serve the Supreme and National Court benches for at least 10 years while, the re-appointments were period of three-years.

The Commission Chairman Niningi, who is also the Minister for Justice & Attorney General, told media that despite, there are few issues surrounding the re-appointment of Justice Graham Ellis and his tenure at the office, he has done tremendous job in the province, and his appointment is based on merit.

Mr. Niningi did not further elaborate as to why resident Judge Graham Elis continue to hear the Wabag Election petition case, despite knowing well his term has lapsed in November last year.

Minister Niningi added that the Wabag Open EP is before the Court and he would not make any further comment, however, did confirmed that Justice Graham Ellis will continue with the cases that are before him at the Wabag National Court.
