NASFUND OPENS DOORS TO INFORMAL SECTOR THROUGH EDA SUPER

NASFUND is encouraging people in the informal sector to secure their future through its EDA Super product.


Nasfund CEO Rajeev Sharma speaking today at NasfundFM100 Talkback show said self-employed individuals, SMEs with fewer than 15 employees and professionals can open a superannuation account and make voluntary contributions.


Once registered under EDA Super, members are treated exactly the same as formal sector members, with equal returns and benefits.


EDA Super members can also enjoy Nasfund’s discount programmes like the current 30 percent Brian Bell double discount for February at Brian Bell outlet.


CEO Sharma says EDA Super is about ensuring everyone, regardless of employment status, has access to superannuation and member benefits.


Mr Sharma also clarified that for the employers contributing to Nasfund, they contribute their portion of 8.4 % and the employee contributes 6% from wages.

Nasfund came into existence in 2002 and is now 24 years in business with 745 members will K9.4 billion contributions to the super fund.

CEO Sharma further clarified that is very well regulated, governance-based organisation, where decisions are taken not in house but committee-based decisions.
