KAVIENG HOSPITAL RESUME OPERATION

HEALTH services at the New Ireland Provincial hospital resumed after midday yesterday after it ceased operations following the hold up of one of its prominent doctors over the weekend.
The hospital resumed operations after responsible authoritiesβ gave assurance to take actions forthwith.
The weekend incident happened amid Hospital staff continuously threatened by criminal elements.
Upon an open discussion with the entire Kavieng hospital staff involving New Ireland Governor Walter Schnaubelt, Kavieng District Administrator Benjamin Kimbe, Provincial Police Commander Albert Beli, Kavieng Hospital Board Chairlady Maria Kopkop, Kavieng hospital Acting CEO Peterson Marengas and his management team, the Kavieng hospital has assured to return to work as of yesterday afternoon.
The hospital management will resume operations given their recommendations are met by the authority, to arrest identified suspects involved.
