FORMER KANDEP MP TO APPEAR IN COURT TODAY

A Committal Court ruling on former Kandep MP Don Pomb Poye, who is facing the charges of official Corruption is set to go ahead today, the 16th of June 2026 at the Waigani Committal Court.
The matter was listed to for the ruling at 0930am last Thursday, (11th of June), however, it was moved to today, by presiding magistrate, Paul Puri Nii.
Court ousted Kandep MP, Polye is facing three counts of charges, including official Corruption, conspire to defeat Justice and Attempt to pervert justice.
Waigani Committal Court senior Mgistrate Nii will make the ruling today, to see whether the evidence presented to Court in relation to the charges are sufficient to Commit Polye to stand trial at the National Court.
Meanwhile, another high-profile case in the Road Traffic Authority saga will be decided by next week Monday, the 22nd of June 2026.
Committal Court has already found sufficient evidence to trial acting RTA Boss John Avira at the National Court.
