NORTH BOUGAINVILLE MP NOT FAZED BY CALL TO LEAVE OPPOSITION
By Nigel Mado
THE North Bougainville MP, Francesca Semoso or more affectionately known as Mama Franco says she will not be fazed by unnecessary calls to move out of the opposition, stating that her move was for the betterment for her people.
This follows a call for the North Bougainville MP to move out of the Opposition camp by an anonymous person on social media following the defection of Gulf of Papua Governor, Christopher Haiveta to the opposition after his fallout with Prime Minister James Marape over the NEC’s decision to park the Gulf Provincial Governments K60mil Business Development Grant in the accounts of the Enga Provincial Government.
In an exclusive interview with FM100 Newsroom, Semoso stated that she is the leader of her people and will make decisions to benefit her people.
She said she has not heard anything regarding this from her people.
“Don’t know where this rubbish is coming from, my people haven’t not said a word,” she said.
She further added that for her stance, it’s about the future of Bougainville and its ratification of the 97.7% vote of the 2019 Bougainville results and the independence of the Autonomous Region.
She reaffirmed that she is not in the National parliament to play party politics, but rather there for the people of North Bougainville and Bougainville as a region.
She called for the people to keep calm as the country goes through this challenging period and to pray for God’s guidance as this is a critical time.
