THE National Superannuation Fund (NASFUND) hosted its 7th Annual Employer Awards Conference yesterday evening at the Stanley Hotel in Port Moresby.

The conference, themed “Recognizing Excellence”, brought together employers from across Papua New Guinea to recognise outstanding commitment to employee superannuation contributions and compliance.

NASFUND Deputy Chair, Anthony Yauieb, said superannuation is more than a legal obligation — it’s a foundation for national progress.

He says Superannuation allows employees to retire with dignity and independence. It is also a powerful tool for national development.

Chief Executive Officer Rajeev Sharma said the event honors employers who uphold integrity and take care of their workers’ future.

He says the event is about recognising employers who are not just doing the right thing for NASFUND, but for their employees and the country.”

Mr Sharma also shared highlights of NASFUND’s digital transformation, including the eBranch platform and Innovation Hub, which now serve over 600,000 members nationwide.

He confirmed NASFUND’s assets grew to K8.5 billion in 2024, with a net profit of K450 million and a record 11.75 percent interest credited to member accounts.

Employers were recognised for excellence in payroll compliance, staff welfare, and innovation — reinforcing NASFUND’s message of ethical business practices.

The annual event continues to promote transparency and trust in PNG’s superannuation sector.
