FORMER Acting Chief Executive Officer to NiuSky Pacific Limited, Jordan Imal was cleared today (Wednesday, 28th of August) from misappropriation charges laid against him.

Imal appeared at the Waigani Committal Court earlier this morning before the presiding magistrate Albert Daniels to read out his charges, however, there was insufficient evidence provided to the court from the police informant or arresting officer and the complainant for the matter to proceed.

Thus, giving the Court the powers to hand down its decision and it was struck out.

Imal, 47, of Makopin Village in the East Sepik’s Yangoru-Saussia district was charged with allegedly misappropriating K305 000 belonging to the company to purchase a vehicle for support staff use.
Imal told media outside of court house, that the said vehicle was brought and registered under the company’s name as a support fleet, as per the directives and decision of the Board.

“Obviously, the charges were misappropriation of company property, a new vehicle that we bought.

“And the chairman (Robin Kawat) decided to take me to court after I resigned and left the company,” Imal said.

He said it was relieving after the court made its decision to strike the matter out.

“It has been three months of coming to court and finally, today, Court made its decision that there were no elements of those charges linking me to whatever allegations of misappropriation.

He said he felt Grateful to the Court for being just and fair and and for reaching the decision.
