MINISTER PRESENTS K50,000 TO JAUMO BALSA WOOD NURSERY IN NORTHERN PROVINCE

FORESTRY Minister Salio Waipo, recently presented a cheque of K50,000 to the Jaumo Balsa Nursery Project in Kararata, Northern Province during his recent visit to the province.
The cheque was handed over to the Project Chairman, Chief Honestmas Konja, and the Project Consultant, Stanford Motamota, at the official launch of the Balsa Nursery on Saturday.
The K50,000 funding is aimed at supporting the development of Jaumo Balsa Nursery.
Speaking at the event, Minister Waipo stated that Oro Province has huge potential in Agriculture and the current initiative is an investment for the younger ones and the future generation.
Waipo further stated that the Jaumo Balsa Project would serve as a pilot initiative for forestry in the province.
He assured that his team would collaborate closely with the Governor of Northern Province, Garry Juffa, and the Member for Popondetta Open Richard Masere, along with the rest of the team on ground to ensure the success and sustainability of the project.
In his remarks, Northern Governor Garry Juffa thanked the Forestry Minister and his team for their representation of the Prime Minister and the Marape-Rosso Government at the launch of the province’s first-ever Balsa Wood Nursery project.
The Jaumo Balsa Project is expected to promote community engagement and provide long-term benefits to the people of Northern Province, contributing to the province’s development for generations to come.
