NO MORE 10 % GST ON ESSENTIAL HOUSEHOLD ITEMS

PRIME Minister James Marape has announced that the 2025 Budget is people friendly and it is a budget that will provide the biggest ever relieve to the people.

In announcing this, he says, with budget handed down on Friday, the Marape Rosso Pangu- led government have removed the 10 % GST on 13 essential household items including flour, rice, cooking oil, soap amongst others to relieve the burden on the citizens of this nation and will be effective as of July 1st, 2025.

The Prime Minister delivered these- relieving announcement yesterday at the Officiating Ceremony of the 9- mile Saivara Satellite Township Project in the Moresby North- East Electorate of Port Moresby.

He affirmed the government has allocated K100 million to the Internal Revenue Commission to purchase a new computer system to execute the exemption of 10% GST on the 13 items in all shops.
