KIARA FC DEFEATS HEKARI IN SEMIs; ADVANCE TO FINALS

KIARA Football Club U17 soccer qualifying team from the Autonomous Region of Bougainville defeated Hekari with a biting 4-1 victory in the FIFA U17 National Soccer League Semi Finals in Lae.

The team will take on Sambio FC of Lae in the grand final whilst Hekari will play Goroka for 3rd/4th placing.

Captain Anastasius Malese, 17 years of age, led the young boys to take part in the FIFA U17 National Soccer League Competition to take on Hekari for the semi-finals in Lae.

“Kiara FC beat North FC in the quarterfinal in Buka, to qualify for the semi-final, which be held in Lae”, he said.

Malese said he was confident that the preparations done by the team will be able to secure the KFC’s spot in the grand finals in Port Moresby.

The sixteen best U17 soccer players from Kiara Football Club travelled with Coach Carl Maneo and assistant coach.

Kiara Football Club is a team from a village called Hangan in Tsitalato Constituency with all players currently attending school.
