NATIONAL ST. JOHN AMBULANCE RECORD QUIET CHRISTMAS EVE
The Christmas Spirit was truly at work on Christmas Eve. For the National St. John’s Ambulance officers on call for duty last night, work seemed to be a breeze, with little to no major incidents recorded.
Duty Operations Commanding Officer, Lawrence Steven, addressing the media stated that over the thousand plus calls being received by the National Ambulance Operations Centre [NAOC], an overwhelming number of them were prank calls, with an average number of close to 10 cases per 100 calls.
Steven stated that no serious cases reported, save for the sick patients who encountered complications during this time. Speaking of the NSJA’s Festive period operations, he said for this year they have procured an extra Ambulance to help out with the festive period.
Aside from this, the members of the NJSA’s “Alpha Crew” spent the night dispatched to various parts of the city and to certain parts of Central province, even to the extent of delivering a baby for a young woman in Sabusa, Central Province.
Kalang News was given the privilege to have ridden Alpha 021 Ambulance, commandeered by Alpha Crew’s highly experienced Qualified Ambulance Officers, Florence Marampau & Douglas Kamali, tending to cases both in and outside the city.
