While celebrations for the Christmas and Boxing Day were cordial and did not see many incidents reported around the city, the same could not be said for New Years. With places like Sabama and Hohola being a headache for emergency services, both Blue & Green angels were tested.

Responding to a case at Geno Barracks, Kaugere in the Moresby-South Electorate, the members of Ambulance Unit Alpha 041 were dispatched to attend to a Gun-shot wound victim.

Upon arrival, the initial assessment made by both Ambulance officers, Verstarven Kombe, Stevie Nion & Hosea Wartovo seemed dire for the unfortunate kid.

The officers observed 3 wounds sustained by the patient, the bullet moving clean through the upper left thigh and lodging itself in the right. The Officers managed the injured patient with a Pressure dressing after cleaning, with all vitals stable.

The Patient was then taken to the Prot Moresby General Hospital.

Speaking to Kalang News following the incident, the officers stated that it was a miracle the Fermal Artery on both legs had not been damaged in both legs. Had that occurred, the situation would have been potentially fatal for the lad.
