PITPIT STREET TO EIGHT MILE ROAD WORKS TO COMMENCE SOON

A 3.3 kilometer road linking Pitpit Street in Waigani, through Morata to 8mile will commence soon with the project awarded to local contractor Mobile Works Limited.
This K9milliofunded road is a vital road link providing road access through Morata to Mc Gregor junction in eight mile.
NCD Governor Powes Parkop who officiated the Ground Breaking ceremony yesterday, stated that his goal is to transform the infrastructures in the Nation’s capital as the epicentre of the country ahead of the 50th Independence anniversary.
Governor Parkop said, plans for infrastructural development in the city is a journey to improve and transform infrastructures, provide modern and quality service for the people; and this is what the journey is about.
Last week, NCDC launched the Tokara-Hohola road and next month will be the launched of Scratchley road from Badili roundabout to the freeway.
The ground breaking ceremony was witnessed by residence of Morata community, Moresby North East MP John Kaupa, City Manager Ravu Frank and other dignitaries.
City Manager Ravu Frank also confirmed that the 3.3 km road link is funded by NCDC at a cost of K9 million and is awarded to Mobile Works Limited, local contractor who has proven to deliver standard and quality road works in previous road constructions.
Mr Ravu thanked Governor Parkop and the NCDC board for approving funding for this project as it will serve as the lifeline for economic growth, and development in the city and community.
This road links shares electoral boundaries with Moresby North West and Moresby North East of which almost three quarter of it runs through the Moresby North East Electorate.
