50TH INDEPENDENCE ANNIVERSARY LOGO & THEME LAUNCHED
THE official Logo and Theme of the 50th Independence Anniversary was officially launched yesterday evening at the Parliament precint.
With the Theme: “Celebrate our History, and Inspire our Future” Prime Minister made the official launching.
The official launch of the 50th Anniversary Logo coincidently came at a time, when the nation lost one of the very significant leaders who set the foundation of this nation, the Rt Honorable Sir Julius Chan.
Prime Minister James Marape in his official remarks stated that Late Rt Hon, Chan was a leader for this country and would have loved to see this time, the country celebrating its 50th Independence Anniversary.
Sir Julius Chan was the Second Prime Minister of Papua New Guinea and the first Finance Minister after Grand Chief Sir Michael Somare in 1975.
Meantime, Prime Minister James Marape together with the Members of Parliament, Diplomats and dignitaries gave a moment of silence in respect to this Great Man.
Meantime the Prime Minister also announced that the Late Rt Honorable Julius Chan would be accorded a State Funeral and will be laid to rest in his home province New Ireland as per his wish as advised by his family.
