By Sharon AGAVI
The Teaching Service Commission has urged teachers, senior teachers and headteachers to appeal to the TSC appeal committee if they think they are being deprived of their rightful positions.
The TSC Chairman Samson Wangihomie said this recently in a press conference following a dispute in Gerehu Secondary School in Port Moresby involving concerned parents, students and staff over appointment displacements of teachers.
As reports have been received that a lot of teachers are being displaced from their teaching positions by their Provincial Education Boards, school boards including the communities, the TSC Chairman explained that TSC is the employer of the teachers and the decisions that comes from the TSC is final and no changes will be made by anyone.
He urged teachers to appeal to the TSC appeal committee if they are not happy with their postings and positions.
Meanwhile, the member for Raicoast District in Madang province has called on all Raicoast Tertiary students to apply for School fee assistance through the Raicoast Development Authority.
