GOROKA MP CALLS FOR RELEASE OF “SSD COPS” MURDER SUSPECT

GOROKA MP Aiye Tambua is calling for the immediate surrender of the suspects responsible for the killing of the two SSD mobile squad 11 who were based in Wabag.
The first officer was late Constable Noah Biabe who was killed on the spot and his body lays in Goroka Funeral home.
He is saddened to hear or the passing of Late Constable Gorano, the second SSD officer who died from this incident after succumbing to injuries sustained from an ambush in Mendi by gun man on the road.
He said both Constables are from Goroka.
Mr Tambua appealed to the community leaders, the Local MP for Mendi Tonpi, and the Southern Highlands Governor William Powi to take responsibility and assist the police identify and release the suspect to police.
Tambua said just recently, the community of Hela province showed good humility by handing over a suspect of a police man in Hela and now it would be prudent for SHP to show example to the country by handing over the suspects to police.
Mr Tambua also expressed his condolences to the family of both member who lost their sons. He said both police Constable where from Goroka and is appealing to the relatives to respect investigation of the police.
Mr Tambua is also appealing to the Police Commissioner to increase its capacity especially in trauma care, to look after police personnel who get injured during their duties.
