KOKOPO TOP ROOSTER ROBBERY LEFT FILIPINO WOMAN WOUNDED

THE recent violent robbery at the Kokopo Top Rooster over the weekend has left a Filipino women wounded, after being stabbed several times by the thugs.

Police in Kokopo has confirmed the woman of Philipines national was with her husband dining at the time of the incident.

The thugs after robbing the shop, demanded she give her bag but upon refusing, she was stabbed.

She was rushed to St Mary’s Vunapope Hospital for treatment.

According to reliable sources, the assailants had boarded a 4C bus at Navunaram village in the Central Gazelle LLG, claiming they were heading to church.

However, the situation escalated when they held up the bus driver at Bitavavar in the Kokopo Vunamami LLG, and made of with the bus to execute the robbery at Top Rooster before abandoning it at Ulagunan Village in the Kokopo Vunamami LLG in Kokopo District.

Despite a swift police response involving multiple units, including Kokopo Beat Unit, Fox 02, and the Prosecutions and PSU members, the seven suspects managed to escape into the nearby coconut plantations, leaving the law enforcement team to recover the abandoned vehicle.

Local business owner Susie McGrade, who runs the Rabaul Hotel, expressed her outrage over the incident, stating, β€œWhy do these savages have to hurt the staff and customers? This is not theft. This is attempted murder and very outrageous. Kids with knives cutting people is savagery.”

This incident has raised serious concerns about safety, prompting calls for increased security measures and community vigilance. As investigations continue, business owners and their employees are left to grapple with the implications of such violence.
