NYSL COMP DATES ANNOUNCED
The PNGFA Competition has officially announced the revised draws for the highly anticipated 2024 National Youth Soccer League Championships (finals) stage, set to take place in Lae this week. The Morobe capital is poised to come alive as it witnesses the best youth teams representing their respective conferences battle it out for the title of the best youth club in the country.
PNGFA Competition Manager Paul Isorua explained that the schedule has been slightly adjusted with consideration to the confirmation of the NYSL Highlands Conference winners in both the U17 Boys and Girls categories, as well as the ongoing maintenance work being carried out on the LFA Field of Play (FOP).
The semi-final matches, originally scheduled for Thursday, February 20, have now been rescheduled for Friday, February 21, 2025. The winners of these semi-final clashes will advance to the finals on Saturday, February 22, 2025, for the Under 17 Boys category, while the losing teams will compete for 3rd and 4th places.
In the U17 Girls category, since only two conferences hosted the NYSL events, the final will feature the winner of the Highlands Conference facing Hekari Football Academy from the Southern Conference. This decisive match will also take place on Saturday, February 22, 2025.
