IORIVE CHEF DE MISSION FOR 2026 COMMONWEALTH GAMES

The Papua New Guinea Olympic Committee (PNGOC) Board has unanimously approved the appointment of PNGOC Treasurer, Elaine Iorive, as Chef de Mission for Team PNG at the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games.
The decision was made during the PNGOC Board Meeting held in Port Moresby, on February 26, Elaine Iorive’s appointment demonstrates her exceptional leadership capabilities, commitment to sports and PNGOC’s strategic vision, making her exceptionally qualified for this critical role.
As Chef de Mission, she will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of Team PNG’s participation in Glasgow 2026, ensuring that athletes and officials are well-prepared and supported throughout the event.
The Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games, scheduled to take place from July 23 to August 2, 2026, will bring together athletes from across the Commonwealth to compete on the international stage. In her role, Iorive will lead Team PNG’s delegation, manage logistics, and create an environment that will enable athletes to perform at
their best.
