SNAX TIGERS SUPPORTS PNGDF WALK

By Martha LOUIS
THE Snax Tigers rugby league team showed their support for the Papua New Guinea Defence Force (PNGDF) by donating biscuits to soldiers taking part in the PNGDF 50th Independence Walk.
On Day 8 of their journey, the soldiers had resumed walking from Mutzing Station when they were met by the Tigers team, who were travelling to Goroka for their Digicel Cup clash with the Goroka Lahanis.
The Tigers made a brief stop to hand over cartons of Snax biscuits to the soldiers before continuing their trip.
Captain Kispe Nerre, who is leading the PNGDF team on the walk, thanked the team for their thoughtful gesture.
“We appreciate this kind gesture and wish them all the best in their game on Sunday against the Goroka Lahanis,” Capt. Nerre said.
The Independence Walk is part of celebrations to mark 50 years of the PNG Defence Force’s service to the nation.
