YAFAI GUILTY OF CHARGES
FORMER Deputy Finance Secretary and Paul Paraka-saga co-accused Jacob Yafai to appear at the National Court in Waigani, in the coming month to know his fate on sentencing.
Presiding judge Chief Justice Sir Gibbs Salika gave his verdict yesterday, Tuesday, 19th of August, however, the submission of the sentencing will be on Tuesday, 9th of September.
Chief Justice Sir Gibbs ruled that former deputy secretary and Paraka-saga co-accused Yafai is guilty of all five charges including abuse of office and misappropriations.
The Court also heard that Yafai dishonestly misused public funds, totalling K41.8m.
The matter returns in September, to make ruling on his sentencing.
